who we are

Prompted Collective Limited exists to hold corporations accountable for the products they create and the impact those products have on the world. We believe that corporate responsibility does not end at the point of sale. Companies that manufacture weapons, surveillance technology, and other high-risk products must be held to the same legal and ethical standards as any other industry. Just as the tobacco industry was forced to accept liability for the foreseeable harm of its products, so too must weapons manufacturers face legal and financial consequences when their products are used in war crimes, human rights abuses, and mass civilian casualties.

We are a coalition of lawyers, investigators, policy experts, and human rights advocates working to enforce international law, strengthen corporate responsibility frameworks, and secure justice for those harmed by reckless arms sales and military-industrial profiteering.

why prompted collective_

We are called Prompted Collective because:

"Prompted" – because the scale of destruction and suffering caused by unchecked corporate power demands action.

"Collective" – because justice is not achieved alone. We bring together legal professionals, human rights experts, and affected communities to challenge corporate impunity and drive systemic change.

This is not about ideology or activism — it is about legal accountability, precedent, and justice. If a company profits from foreseeable destruction, it must also be liable for the harm caused.

003

our mission

At Prompted Collective, we are committed to:

  • Holding corporations accountable when their products are used in human rights violations, war crimes, and civilian massacres.

  • Challenging corporate impunity by using the full extent of international law, national tort law, and human rights frameworks to seek legal consequences.

  • Securing reparations and financial accountability for the civilians, communities, and nations harmed by reckless arms sales and unethical corporate practices.

  • Strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks to ensure weapons manufacturers face the same responsibility for their products as any other high-risk industry.

  • Driving systemic change through litigation, policy reform, and public advocacy, ensuring that the lessons of the tobacco industry’s Master Settlement Agreement apply to the arms industry today.

004

the case for corporate accountability

Corporations cannot ignore the consequences of their products. The tobacco industry was forced to pay billions in financial settlements because they knowingly sold a harmful product while denying its risks.

The weapons industry is no different:

They sell military hardware to governments and regimes with a history of war crimes.

They profit from civilian deaths, mass displacement, and destruction.

They market their products as “defensive” or “precision-guided” while evidence proves they are used indiscriminately.

They externalise the cost of their actions, forcing taxpayers, humanitarian agencies, and civil society to bear the burden of rebuilding.

If a company profits from a foreseeable harm, it must be held accountable for that harm.

005

the laws and principles we observe

Our work is rooted in law. We bring cases under established legal frameworks in multiple jurisdictions, including:

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) – Geneva Conventions (1949) & Hague Regulations (1907) prohibit indiscriminate attacks on civilians.

Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) – Article 25 allows for prosecution of individuals and corporate complicity in war crimes.

U.S. Alien Tort Statute (ATS) – Allows civil claims against corporations for violations of international law.

U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) – Holds companies liable if they knowingly provide material support to foreign actors engaged in human rights abuses.

U.K. Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act (2007) – Establishes corporate liability for loss of life caused by reckless business practices.

European Universal Jurisdiction Laws – Allow prosecution of corporations involved in war crimes, regardless of where they were committed.

Product Liability and Negligence Principles – If a company’s product causes harm due to design flaws, reckless distribution, or deceptive marketing, it is legally responsible.

The legal case is clear: arms manufacturers profit from foreseeable, large-scale human harm while refusing to take responsibility. This is not just unethical—it is unlawful.

006

how we work

Legal Investigations & Case Building – We conduct forensic research to trace corporate complicity in war crimes and mass civilian harm.

Strategic Litigation Across Jurisdictions – We file cases in U.K. courts, European human rights courts, U.S. federal courts, and international tribunals to establish liability and seek financial penalties.

Industry & Policy Reform – We push for higher standards of due diligence, stronger corporate responsibility frameworks, and stricter international regulation of high-risk industries.

Advocacy & Public Awareness – We engage legal experts, business leaders, and policymakers to ensure accountability is embedded in corporate governance.

007

our partnerships

We work with:

Leading international law firms and legal chambers specialising in human rights litigation, corporate accountability, and universal jurisdiction cases.

Investigative organisations that track arms sales, war crimes, and corporate involvement in human rights abuses.

Victims’ groups and civil society organisations that provide testimony, evidence, and advocacy for affected communities.

Policy and legal reform groups pushing for stricter corporate responsibility laws at national and international levels.

Academics, think tanks, and journalists who support legal research, investigations, and documentation of corporate liability.

008

the outcomes we pursue

Financial Liability & Reparations - Just as the tobacco industry was forced to compensate states for public health costs, weapons manufacturers must compensate the victims of unlawful military actions.

Regulatory Change & Legal Restrictions - We work to strengthen laws that prevent arms sales to human rights violators and enforce corporate accountability standards in international law.

Criminal & Civil Penalties - Where applicable, we pursue criminal prosecution of executives and civil damages against corporations for their role in human rights violations.

A Precedent-Setting Case Against the Arms Industry - We seek to build a case modelled on the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA), forcing arms manufacturers into a long-term settlement and reform process.

009

our values

  • Accountability - Companies should not profit from destruction without consequence.

  • Justice - Those who suffer from reckless arms sales deserve reparations and recognition.

  • Integrity - We pursue cases based on evidence, law, and precedent—not ideology.

  • Collaboration - True accountability requires a collective effort across legal, policy, and advocacy fields.

  • Impact -We do not just talk about corporate responsibility—we enforce it.
